The Indian tablet market is poised for a significant disruption as OnePlus officially gears up to launch the highly anticipated OnePlus Pad Go 2. Set to debut on December 17, 2025, this successor to the popular 2023 model promises a suite of upgrades designed to appeal directly to students and young professionals seeking a powerful yet budget-friendly device. With enhanced performance, a stunning display, and new productivity features, the Pad Go 2 aims to solidify OnePlus’s position in the fiercely competitive mid-range tablet category.

OnePlus has confirmed the official launch event for the Pad Go 2 on December 17, with sales slated to commence just a day later, on December 18, 2025, across major online platforms including Amazon.in, Flipkart, the OnePlus India online store, and offline retailers. This strategic release timing positions the tablet as a prime contender for end-of-year purchases, targeting a demographic that values both entertainment and educational utility. The device is expected to arrive as a notable upgrade, carrying the legacy of its predecessor while introducing several premium features previously uncommon in its price segment.

A key highlight of the OnePlus Pad Go 2 is its immersive 12.1-inch display. This impressive panel boasts a 2.8K resolution (2800 x 1980 pixels) with a crisp pixel density of 284 PPI, delivering sharp visuals and vibrant colours. Enhancing the viewing experience further, the display supports Dolby Vision and offers a peak brightness of 900 nits in High Brightness Mode (HBM), making it ideal for media consumption even in varying lighting conditions. With a smooth 120Hz refresh rate and a unique 7:5 aspect ratio, the screen is designed for comfortable reading and efficient multitasking, further complemented by TÜV Rheinland Intelligent Eye Care 4.0 certification to reduce eye strain during extended use.

Under the hood, the OnePlus Pad Go 2 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300-Ultra octa-core chipset, built on an efficient 4nm manufacturing process. This capable mid-range processor is engineered to deliver a balanced performance for everyday tasks, moderate gaming, and seamless multitasking. The tablet will reportedly feature 8GB of LPDDR5x RAM and come with storage options up to 256GB of UFS 3.1, with expandable memory support up to 1TB. On the software front, the Pad Go 2 will run on Android 16-based OxygenOS 16, promising a clean, fluid user interface and a commitment to smooth performance for up to four years, certified by TÜV SÜD Fluency. The integration of OnePlus’s Open Canvas multitasking system allows for intuitive split-screen modes and smooth switching between multiple windows, enhancing productivity.

Battery life is another area where the OnePlus Pad Go 2 aims to excel. It is equipped with a substantial 10,050mAh battery, which OnePlus claims can provide up to 15 hours of continuous video playback, up to 53 hours of music playback, and an impressive 60 days of standby time. Complementing this large battery is 33W SUPERVOOC fast charging, ensuring quick recharges. The tablet also supports wired reverse charging at 6.5W, allowing users to power up other devices on the go, adding a layer of convenience.

In a first for the Pad Go series, the OnePlus Pad Go 2 will introduce stylus support with the brand-new OnePlus Pad Go 2 Stylo. Designed for note-taking, creative work, and precise interactions, the Stylo will offer 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity and support fast charging, providing half a day of use with just a 10-minute charge. Connectivity options are robust, with the Shadow Black variant specifically featuring 5G support, making it an attractive choice for users requiring constant connectivity. Furthermore, the tablet will incorporate a suite of AI-powered features, including AI Writer, AI Translation, AI Summary, and AI Recorder, aimed at boosting productivity and enhancing the user experience.

In terms of design, the OnePlus Pad Go 2 maintains the clean, minimalist aesthetic characteristic of the OnePlus tablet lineup. It will be available in two appealing colour options: Shadow Black and Lavender Drift. While official pricing details are yet to be revealed, industry expectations place the tablet within the budget-friendly segment, likely around the ₹18,999 to ₹24,999 range, depending on the variant and connectivity. This competitive pricing strategy, similar to its predecessor which launched at ₹19,999 (Wi-Fi) and ₹21,999 (LTE), positions the Pad Go 2 against rivals like the Samsung Galaxy Tab A11+, offering a compelling feature set for its target audience. The OnePlus Pad Go 2 is expected to make a strong impact, offering a well-rounded package that balances affordability with significant technological advancements.
