Bengaluru, 5/1 : A minor boy has been detained by Bengaluru police after he was allegedly caught recording videos inside the women’s washroom of a movie theatre in the Madiwala police station limits. The incident, which occurred on Sunday, January 4, around 9:30 PM, led to a commotion at Sandhya Cinema Theatre. Police are currently investigating the matter and questioning the theatre’s management.
According to police reports, women using the washroom at the Sandhya Cinema Theatre noticed a device allegedly recording videos. They immediately raised an alarm, drawing the attention of other patrons who then confronted the juvenile. Following the disturbance, the “Namma 112” emergency helpline received information around 9:30 PM, prompting the Madiwala police and a Hoysala patrol team to rush to the location.
Upon arrival, police officers intervened in the situation, safely rescuing the juvenile from the agitated crowd and bringing him to the police station for further inquiry. The minor boy’s mobile phone, believed to contain the alleged recordings, has been seized as part of the ongoing investigation.
Authorities have also taken another suspect into custody for questioning in connection with the incident, and efforts are underway to trace an additional accused who is currently absconding. The management committee of Sandhya Cinema Theatre is also being questioned as part of the comprehensive investigation to understand the circumstances surrounding the event and any potential lapses. Police officials have stated that procedures are being followed as per legal norms for juveniles in conflict with the law. The motive behind the alleged filming remains under investigation.
