Winter Chill Subsides in Odisha Due to Western Disturbance, Night Temperatures to Remain Stable

Bhubaneswar: Residents of Odisha have received some relief from the biting cold as temperatures have risen under the influence of a western disturbance, reducing the intensity of winter conditions across the state. According to the Bhubaneswar Meteorological Centre, the maximum daytime temperature in the capital touched 32.3 degrees Celsius. Day temperatures crossed 30 degrees Celsius at 19 locations, out of which seven places recorded temperatures above 31 degrees. On Wednesday, Jharsuguda and Paradip recorded 31.4 degrees Celsius each, followed by Bhadrak and Paralakhemundi at 31.2 degrees, Angul at 31.1 degrees, Jagatsinghpur at 31 degrees, Sambalpur at 30.8 degrees and Puri at 30.7 degrees Celsius. Night temperatures have also increased, with coastal areas witnessing a rise of around 3 degrees and interior regions seeing an increase of nearly 7 degrees over the past four days. On Tuesday night, minimum temperatures were recorded at 5.8 degrees Celsius in G Udayagiri, 7.6 degrees in Semiliguda and 9 degrees in Phulbani. The Meteorological Department has forecast light to moderate fog at several places across the state till the morning of the 26th. It further stated that there is no significant change expected in night temperatures across Odisha for the next four days.
