Cuttack: The private bus owners’ association has withdrawn its proposed strike after holding positive discussions with the state government. The association stated that the decision was taken after the government agreed to address their key demands, bringing relief to commuters who were facing the possibility of disrupted transport services across the state.
According to the association, talks with the Chief Minister, Transport Minister, Transport Secretary and the Transport Commissioner proved constructive. The bus owners had earlier opposed the government’s decision to operate Chief Minister Bus Services from block headquarters to district headquarters, citing concerns over its impact on private operators. Following these discussions, clarity was provided on several issues raised by the association.
After a meeting held on Tuesday evening, the state private bus owners’ association formally decided to call off the strike. With the withdrawal of the agitation, normal private bus services are expected to continue without interruption.
