Bhubaneswar: On the very first day of the New Year, the State Government has effected a major reshuffle at the senior administrative level. Following the appointment of Anu Garg as the Chief Secretary, the State Government has appointed Deoranjan Kumar Singh, a 1993-batch senior administrator, as the new Development Commissioner. Similarly, senior officer Satyabrata Sahu has been appointed as a Member of the Board of Revenue.

Hemant Sharma, a 1995-batch senior IAS officer and current Industries Secretary, has been given the additional charge of the Home Department. Rajesh Prabhakar Patil has been appointed as the Special Relief Commissioner (SRC). Shobha Sharma has been entrusted with the additional charge of the Water Resources Department, while Bhaskar Jyoti Sharma has been given the additional charge of the Forest and Environment Department.

In the district-level reshuffle, Madhumita Rath has been appointed as the Collector of Nayagarh, and Akshay Sunil Agrawal has been named the Collector of Gajapati.
